Essential Policy for Environment
  1. Code of conduct for global environment
    In the process of the business activity, Sumitomo Metal Technology, Inc. institutes this Code of Conduct to fulfill its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), with consciousness of importance of global environmental preservation.
  2. Policy for global environment
    We work toward matching our business activities to the environmental preservation and the development of economic society.
    We provide the products and the services that the possibility of hazardous influence on environment is the lowest and consumers can use safely and without problem.
    Under the slogan of "provide environment-friendly products and services continuously and positively", we contribute to preservation and the development of affluent society, by enhancing energy efficiency to the extent possible, reducing loads to the environment and improving continuous improvement, through all our business activity.
  3. Concrete code of conduct
    • 1) We specify and control the environmental aspect of the products and services in all our business, to promote the environmental preservation activities positively.
    • 2) We establish an environmental management system and promote the continual improvement, to reduce the adverse environmental impact, in our business activities.
    • 3) We comply with the environment-related law, the voluntary standard established in our company and the other required term that we agreed, in our environmental performance.
    • 4) We make an assessment of an environmental influence to reduce the adverse environmental impact and accordingly, set up an environmental objective and target, and work toward the continual improvement and the prevention of the pollution.
    • 5) We practice and preserve the documented environmental management system. Also we ensure all employees including corporate companies to understand and comply with this system by the enlightenment and the education.
    • 6) This environmental policy, if required, can be made a public disclosure, within and outside our companies.
